INDOT Sending Surveyors To Section 5 Of I-69 Corridor

INDOT is sending letters to property owners along State Route 37 in Bloomington to State Route 39 in Morgan County. INDOT spokesperson Cher Elliot says the letters tell residents along Section 5 of the I-69 Corridor to expect environmental surveyors on their property in the coming weeks.

"We will have personnel out along the corridor, reviewing the information that was provided in the tier one environmental study, making sure that all the historical data is accurate and correct and up to date, adding, deleting, changing whatever information needs to take place," she said.

Section 5 includes the area along SR 37 from Bloomington to Martinsville. Homeowners in the area have not received the letters and many like Herb Walker are not sure how they will be affected by the highway.

"But, he said this is quite a ways from it," he said. "That's why I probably didn't get those kind of letters."

According to INDOT, the surveying will begin September 19th. The final report is expected to be complete by spring of 2013.
