Indiana confirmed nine new COVID-19-related deaths and 993 new cases Saturday.
The latest data from the State Department of Health brought the total COVID-19 death toll to 12,605 and the total number of positive cases to 683,076.
Health officials reported that the state had administered 85,968 new tests by Saturday. Those brought the all-time total of administered tests to more than 8.8 million.

In Monroe County, the health department reported 25 new cases, bringing the county total to 10,820. The death toll remained the same at 166.
The department has administered 438,392 tests since the pandemic began, and it reported 5,971 new tests by noon Saturday.
The health department said Friday that a total of 1,561,705 first doses of vaccine have been administered across Indiana, and 1,042,768 Hoosiers — more than 15% of Indiana’s population — have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Hoosiers age 40 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents, first responders are currently eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Educators up to grade 12, along with other school workers such as classroom aides and bus drivers are also eligible.
Eligible Hoosiers can schedule an appointment to receive a vaccine by visiting https://ourshot.in.gov or calling 211 if they do not have access to a computer, or require assistance.
