Prosecutors in Monroe County charged a local 16-year-old with four felony counts, including murder and attempted murder, after an incident last week that left an 18-year-old Bloomington woman dead.

De'Angelo Tashean Princeton Tolliver Edwards has been charged as an adult with murder, murder committed during a felony, attempted murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers from the Bloomington Police Department were dispatched to North Woodburn Ave., in the early morning hours of March 25 after reports of gunshots. While in transit, officers received reports that a person had been shot in the back.

Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings in the parking lot of the apartment building. Subsequently, officers responded to a crashed vehicle near the 1700 block of North College Ave. The affidavit identified the vehicle's occupants as 18-year-old Keisha Huntington and her boyfriend, Camron Braun.

Huntington had sustained a gunshot wound to her back and later died from her injuries.

In an interview with police, Braun said that he had arrived at the apartment with Huntington with the intent of purchasing marijuana from someone called "D-Lo." When they arrived, "D-Lo" allegedly approached their vehicle with a handgun and demanded that they give him all of their property. Braun said he gave "D-Lo" $150 in cash before telling Huntington to drive away.

Braun said that as Huntington accelerated out of the parking lot, he heard three gunshots. He said Huntington then told him she had been shot before the vehicle crashed into a parked car on North College Ave.

According to the affidavit, police were able to locate and identify Edwards as "D-Lo" using Snapchat and other social media accounts. When shown a photo of Edwards in a lineup, Braun identified him as "D-Lo" with 100% certainty.

Police arrested Edwards at his father's residence later that day, and he was taken to the Monroe County Probation Department.
