Monroe County Has Fully Vaccinated 34,000+ People Against COVID-19

Wednesday's update from the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) shows 34,223 people have received full doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Monroe County. 

Monroe County administered 809 second doses and 462 first doses of the two-shot Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines in the last 24 hours. As of Wednesday, 26.7% of Monroe County's population over age 16 has been fully vaccinated and just more than 43% has received at least one shot.  

Across the state, IDOH reports 28,723 more people have become fully vaccinated, with more than 1.6 million Hoosiers now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

IDOH also reported 1,166 new positive cases and eight confirmed COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, bringing the state totals to 710,607 cases and 12,840 deaths. 

The statewide seven-day all-test positivity rate dropped to 5.1%. 

In Monroe County, officials reported 29 new cases and no new deaths. County totals are now 11,510 cases and 166 deaths. The county’s positivity rate is at 1.3% for the eighth day in a row. Area hospitalizations increased to 27.
