The seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in Monroe County jumped by nearly half a percentage point Thursday.
According to the Indiana Department of Health’s (IDOH) Thursday update, Monroe County’s seven-day all-test positivity rate is 2.2%, up from 1.8% Wednesday. That’s as the statewide positivity rate is declining.
Statewide, Indiana reports a 4.7% positivity rate, down from 4.8% Wednesday.
Indiana also reported 929 new COVID-19 cases and eight additional confirmed deaths Thursday, totaling 738,173 cases and 13,108 cases over the course of the pandemic.
Monroe County reported 14 new cases and no additional deaths, bringing the county’s totals to 11,993 cases and 172 deaths.
Indiana has administered more than 4.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 2,371,900 people now fully vaccinated in the Hoosier state.
In Monroe County, 61,663 people have been fully vaccinated – 46.3% of the county’s population.
