New Indiana Hoosiers hoops coach Mike Woodson is gearing up for summer workouts beginning June 10 th.
During a media availability Wednesday, Woodson told fans to look for a more aggressive team next season, particularly on defense.
“Where we get after people and get stops and then rebound the ball and go try to have fun offensively. That's kind of my mindset going in.”
Woodson said he will meet with IU Athletics Director Scott Dolson in the coming days to discuss scheduling.
"I'm not afraid of competition. I want a team that's competitive, and if we can play, get back to play the Kentuckys and the Kansases and teams of that nature before we get on to Big Ten."
However, Woodson added that fans should not expect to see those teams on the schedule in the immediate future.
IU’s roster will be much different next year. Junior Jerome Hunter announced he will play at Xavier University next season in the most recent roster move.
But Woodson has been able to convince several other Hoosier players to stay at IU and not enter the transfer portal, and has added transfers and two players out of high school.
