First-year Indiana basketball coach Mike Woodson has a summer trip to the Bahamas planned for the Hoosiers.
But it won’t all be fun in the sun.
Indiana will play exhibition games against BC Mega Soccerbet, a team based in Belgrade, Serbia, that plays in the Adriatic Basketball Association.
“This will be an excellent opportunity for our young men to grow as a team and begin to learn our new system,” Woodson said in a news release. “I have great respect for our opponent, BC Mega. This will be great preparation for the challenges of the upcoming season."
The six-day trip in the Bahamas will run from Aug. 10-16. Indiana will play BC Mega on Aug. 13 and 15 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. A tour of the islands for the team has been arranged by Complete Sports Management.
It will be Indiana’s first foreign tour since 2014, when it traveled to Canada.
Several former BC Mega players have played in the NBA, including All-Star Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and reserve big man Goga Bitadze of the Indian Pacers.
Neither game will be televised.
