State Records 12 New COVID Deaths, 308 Confirmed Cases

Indiana health officials reported 12 new COVID-19-related deaths and 308 more confirmed positive cases Wednesday.

The latest data from the Indiana Department of Health brought the overall death toll to 13,289 and the total case number to 747,799.

The department also reported 16,399 new tests for the virus, adding to the total of over 10.5 million since the pandemic began.

There were 584 people in Indiana hospitals after testing positive for the virus.

The 7-day all-test positivity rate was 2.6%.

In Monroe County, health officials reported 12 new positive cases but no new deaths.

The county has recorded 12,139 cases and 174 deaths since the pandemic began.

Sixteen county residents were hospitalized for the virus as of Wednesday.

Forty-eight percent of Hoosiers ages 16 and older have been vaccinated. The state reported 21,596 newly vaccinated Hoosiers Wednesday. More than 2.6 million Hoosiers are considered fully vaccinated.
