The dry weather this week will give way to rain again Friday afternoon with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Most of Indiana will be under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms, with the potential for damaging winds and higher amounts of rainfall. Precipitation up to half an inch is possible by Saturday morning.
The greater Bloomington area has received only 16 inches of rain since the beginning of this year, which is 5.5 inches below average and 8 inches less than this time last year. National Weather Service data does not show a risk of drought yet.
Temperature highs will peak on Friday in the low 90s and are expected to be below average beginning next week. Monday is predicted in the lower 80s and dipping down into the lower 70s by Tuesday.
