BT Worker Is Second City Employee To Test Positive For COVID In June

A Bloomington Transit employee tested positive for COVID-19 on June 20, according to a city news release. This employee is the 87th city worker to test positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the release, the employee has not been to work since they began experiencing symptoms June 16. The city did not identify close contacts among the worker's colleagues or members of the public.

Of the 87 city employees to test positive for COVID-19, at least one has died.

The rate of infection among city employees peaked in November 2020 and again in April, but has since declined.
