Showers and thunderstorms will push into Indiana later Friday afternoon and will stick around into the beginning of next week.
An estimated 1-3 inches is expected to fall across central and northern Indiana; however, with the very humid air, higher amounts are possible in local areas.
Rain totals will be higher in western Indiana with estimates in Crawfordsville between 3 and 4 inches, and Terre Haute between 2 and 3 inches. Only 1.5 to 2 inches is expected for Bloomington and Indianapolis.
Central Indiana is under an excessive rainfall risk, severe thunderstorms risk, and possible river flooding risk. Projected flood areas include both the East and West forks of the White River, the Ohio River, and the Wabash River. With the recent rainfall already, flash flooding is at a higher risk from the heavily saturated soil.
In the seven-day forecast, temperatures will remain in the upper 80s, and lows in the 70s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through Thursday next week.
