Incoming Low-Pressure System Leads Way To Wet Weekend

Heavy rain is predicted to barrel in again, as the weekend approaches. These storms will come from a low-pressure system making its way through Indiana this evening. Once the rain begins, it’s expected to continue through Monday.

By early Sunday morning, west-central Indiana anticipates between two and three inches of rain, with potential for higher amounts and minor flood risks.

Since the beginning of this year, the greater Bloomington area has received more than 35 inches of rain, up to 12 inches higher than average, and it may get even wetter through July. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), “The official outlook for July 2021...indicates a greater chance for above normal precipitation across the region, except for northwestern and north-central counties.”

Temperature highs will stay in the lower 80s through Tuesday next week, and the low will be steady in the upper 60s.
