Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority Placed On Disciplinary Probation For Hazing

Indiana University’s Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority has been placed on disciplinary probation until 2023 for hazing.

A March Indiana Daily Student investigation revealed pledges were subject to hazing, sexual harassment, physical abuse and lewd and indecent conduct.

University spokesperson Chuck Carney said disciplinary probation is a warning that comes before more severe sanctions.

"A suspension could be the next step if there are more violations of the conditions of the probation or other misconduct," Carney said in an email.

Policy from IU’s Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life states suspended organizations may not use university space for gathering purposes nor participate in university activities.

The sorority will face social event restrictions through October.
