State Adds About 600 New COVID Cases To Its Toll

Indiana health officials reported 561 new COVID-19 cases today.

The Indiana Department of Health also confirmed one new death. The latest numbers showed 13,514 total confirmed deaths and more than 760,103 positive cases since the pandemic began.  

The seven-day positivity rate is 4.3 percent. The state’s seven-day positivity rate has been increasing since a June 22nd low of 1.9 percent. 

The state recorded 439 Hoosiers hospitalized with the virus. 

The state also has administered more than 5.7 million vaccine doses, and nearly 2.9 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated. 

Monroe County health officials reported 16 new positive cases and no additional deaths. County officials have reported 12,416 cases and 178 deaths since the pandemic began. The county’s seven-day positivity rate was 4.9 percent Friday.

Fifty-six percent of Monroe County's eligible population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
