Indiana health officials reported 713 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday– that’s the highest number of new daily cases reported this month.
The Indiana Department of Health recorded five new deaths Tuesday, bringing the total to 13,530 since the pandemic began.
The state also reported more than 762,000 positive cases since the pandemic began. The state reported 510 Hoosiers are hospitalized with the virus today, up from yesterday’s 493.
The seven-day positivity rate is 5.1 percent, up from 4.8 percent Monday, and 4.5 percent Friday. The state’s seven-day positivity rate has been increasing since a low of 1.9 percent on June 22.
The state has administered more than 5.7 million vaccine doses, and more than 2.9 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.
Monroe County health officials reported 10 new positive cases but no additional deaths. County officials have reported 12,453 cases and 178 deaths since the pandemic began. The county’s seven-day positivity rate was 4.6 percent Monday, and remained the same today.
Twenty-two people are hospitalized with the virus in Monroe County-area hospitals.
More than 56 percent of Monroe County's eligible population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
