One city employee has tested positive for COVID-19 this week, according to Bloomington’s weekly COVID-19 press release.
The employee works within the city's Parks and Recreation Dept. and received the positive result on July 21.
"No members of the public were placed at risk of COVID-19 exposure by this employee while working; one coworker was identified as a close contact and notified," said the city in its press release.
Since the start of the pandemic, 89 positive tests have been reported among city workers. Data and information about cases can be found on the city's online COVID-19 dashboard.
Monroe County's seven-day positivity rate Wednesday is 5.9 percent, up from 5.6 percent yesterday, and 4.6 percent at the start of the week. County officials have reported 12,474 cases and 178 deaths since the pandemic began
