The Buskirk-Chumley Theater will require all patrons to either get vaccinated for COVID-19 or produce a negative test to attend events this fall.
A statement from the Buskirk-Chumley said the theater will be the first large venue in Bloomington to implement such restrictions.
If a patron is producing a negative COVID-19 test, it will need to be within two days of the event.
The theater is asking for proof of vaccination in the form of a physical vaccination card or photo of the card. The card needs to match with a photo ID.
The requirements apply to anyone older than 12 years old. All children younger than 12 will need to have a negative COVID-19 test.
The policy mirrors one the Indianapolis Symphony announced last week.

Masks will also be required as long as Monroe County’s mandate is in place.
Over the course of the last 18 months, the theater said it’s had to cancel or reschedule numerous events.
On the Buskirk-Chumley’s website, music and comedy routines are planned most weekends in September, including the Lotus Festival running September 23 to 25.
