2 More Bloomington City Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

The City of Bloomington reported two new positive COVID-19 cases Friday.

The employees work for Bloomington Utilities and at City Hall, the city reported in a statement. Both employees began experiencing symptoms over the weekend.

The statement said the CBU employee tested positive Thursday. No close contacts were identified, according to the city.

The City Hall employee tested positive Wednesday, and coworkers identified as close contacts have been notified, it said.

City officials say 97 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported by city workers and municipal corporations since the start of the pandemic.  

Last week, four employees working for the city tested positive.

They included two employees at Bloomington Transit and one each from the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Bloomington Housing Authority.
