Death Of Miami Correctional Facility Inmate Under Investigation By Indiana State Police

Indiana State Police began an investigation Sunday into the death of a Miami Correctional Facility inmate. Matthew Koch was found injured in his cell at the facility in Bunker Hill, Indiana.

A release from the state police says foul play is suspected and the death is being treated as a homicide.

Officers found Koch unresponsive Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The release says lifesaving efforts were performed by prison staff, but Koch died from his injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
