Six Bloomington Employees Test Positive For COVID-19 This Week

The City of Bloomington is reporting six new positive employee COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing their total since the pandemic began to 104.

The city said this is the most weekly employee cases they’ve confirmed this year.

Four of these cases were City of Bloomington Utilities workers. One was from the Department of Public Works. Another was from the Bloomington Police Department.

A statement from the city said these cases weren’t traced to previous positive cases among city employees, or to each other.

Of the CBU positive cases, one was found to have close contacts at work. None of them exposed the general public while at work.

No close contacts were identified at work for the Bloomington Police Department Employee at work or with the general public.

Close contacts at work for the Department of Public Works employee were notified. The city said no one from the general public was exposed.
