Six More City Employees Test Positive For COVID-19 – Bringing Total For Month To 18

Six City of Bloomington employees tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

Four are from the Sanitation Division in the Department of Public Works; the tests resulted in recycling delays.

The other two cases are in the Bloomington Fire Department.

Of the sanitation employees, anyone identified as a close contact was notified, a city release says, and no members of the public were exposed.

Neither of the two fire department employees had close contacts at work or exposed members of the public, the release says.

This makes 18 COVID-19 cases confirmed among city employees for September and marks the most monthly cases in 2021.

Since the start of the pandemic, the city has confirmed 113 cases among workers.
