Indiana women's basketball will begin the preseason with its highest ranking in school history, coming in at No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25 women's basketball poll on Tuesday.  It’s the university's highest ranking ever in women’s basketball.

All five starters are returning to a team that went to the NCAA Elite Eight last year.

Head coach Teri Moren, now in her eighth year, has taken the program to three NCAA appearances, and to a second place finish in the Big Ten last season.

“It’s great recognition for our program and a testament to our team and how they continued to get better throughout one of the most difficult and challenging seasons we had in the history of women’s basketball,” Moren said.

“We believe we have much to prove and are looking forward to what we know will be a challenging season in both non-conference as well as what we’ll see in the Big Ten.”

Indiana will host UIndy in exhibition play on Nov. 5 and will open the 2021-22 regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at Butler.
