Xfinity reports service outages across nation, including Indiana

Xfinity, the brand name for Comcast Cable Communications, is reporting nationwide outages for cable television, internet, telephone and other wireless services on its outage map.

The company is reporting outages across Indiana and northern parts of the Midwest.

Other areas the company is reporting unplanned outages include San Francisco  and large parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Neither a cause for the outages nor time for service restoration were reported at the time this story was initially published.

The company's customer support Twitter account posted early Tuesday afternoon, and said it was adressing the interruptions.

Some customers are experiencing intermittent service interruptions as a result of a network issue. Our teams are actively working to bring impacted customers back online, as we continue to investigate. We apologize to those who have been affected. — Xfinity Support (@XfinitySupport) November 9, 2021

Xfinity added in another post that it was investigating the root cause for the issues.

Earlier, some customers experienced intermittent service disruptions as a result of a network issue. We have addressed the issue and service is now restoring for impacted customers, as we continue to investigate the root cause. We apologize to those who were affected. — Xfinity Support (@XfinitySupport) November 9, 2021
