The City of Bloomington reported five new COVID-19 cases among its employees this week.

Two of the cases were among Bloomington Fire Department employees and one came from the police department. One Bloomington Utilities employee tested positive, as did one employee in the department of public works.

The city said the public works employee is the only one with identified close contacts among co-workers.

None of the employees who tested positive this week were linked to previous cases, nor did they expose members of the public while working.

In total, the city has reported 152 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. COVID is listed as a cause of death for one city worker.

Data about COVID-19 cases among city employees, in the county, the state and the nation can be found on this  dashboard. Other city-related updates about the COVID-19 pandemic are assembled  here.
