Monroe County confirmed 195 new COVID-19 cases Monday, down from 206 Friday. This brings its total since the pandemic began to 20,169. No new deaths were reported.
The county’s positivity rate rose to 20 percent, up from 19.3 percent Friday.
The county remains in the orange advisory level at 468 cases per 100,000 people. This number is updated every Wednesday.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown and Bartholomew counties, hospitalizations dropped to 124, down from 134 reported Friday. Almost 42 percent of the district’s 83 ICU beds are occupied by COVID patients, with about 15 percent of beds still available.
Statewide
The state reported 10,003 new positive cases Monday, down from 14,933 Friday. This brings the state total since the pandemic began to 1,366,754.
In total, 19,084 Hoosier have died because of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
Hospitalizations rose to 3,382, up from 3,314 Friday. In total, 37 percent of the state’s 2,072 ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate climbed to 25.9 percent, up from 24.2 percent Friday
