Monroe County confirmed 157 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing its pandemic total to 25,999. No new deaths were reported.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 141 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, up from 131 Monday. About 53 percent of ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients and 19 percent of beds are still available.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 21.4 percent, down from 22.6 percent Monday.
State
The state confirmed 5,655 new cases, bringing its total to 1,629,098.
The state also added 131 new deaths, meaning 20,687 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. Currently, 2,792 people are hospitalized around the state.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 28.4 percent, down from 29.6 percent Monday.
Where to get a walk-up COVID-19 test in Monroe County
The Indiana Department of Health announced Tuesday all state-run clinics will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday due to the winter storm. Thursday schedules for sites south of Johnson County will be based on weather conditions. For additional updates, visit the state’s COVID-19 dashboard.
