Tuesday is election day, and there are several contested Democratic and Republican primary races in Monroe County.
Those include U.S. and state representatives, county sheriff and county commissioner. There are uncontested races for county council, judges and trustees. Democratic and Republican primary winners will face off in the general election on Nov. 8.
Other counties throughout Indiana are conducting primary elections Tuesday as well.
Voting on election day begins at 6 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. You must present a state or federally issued photo ID to vote.
It is too late to register to vote in the primary, but you can still register to vote in this fall’s general election.
