Emily Salzmann wins Democratic primary race for 10th Circuit Court Judge-Seat 7

Emily Salzmann has won the Democratic primary race for Seat 7 Judge of 10th Circuit Court of Monroe County.

She won 35% of the vote with contender Karen Wrenbeck not far behind with 30%, Allison Chopra winning 21%, and April Ann Wilson with only 14% of the vote.

The position of judge for Indiana circuit courts is elected for a 6-year term. The seat was previously filled by incumbent Stephen T. Galvin (D) who is now retiring. He has held the position since 2004 and was most recently re-elected in 2016. 

Carl Lamb (R) is also running unopposed by members of his party for Seat 7, but he will face Wrenbeck in the November 8th election.

Monroe County Circuit Courts 5 and 6 have incumbent candidates Mary Ellen Diekhoff (D) and Holly M. Harvey (D) respectively running unopposed for their seats.

Since she graduated from the IU Maurer School of Law in 2015, Salzmann has worked as a partner at Salzmann Law LLC where she works on both civil and criminal cases in Monroe County.  

Salzmann has served as judge pro tempore in Monroe County 40 times over the past six years. She has also been elected to the roles of president, vice-president, and secretary for the Monroe County Bar Association.
