Bloomfield woman dies in collision in southeastern Greene County

A 22-year-old Bloomfield woman was killed in a head-on collision in southeastern Greene County Monday evening.

According to a release from the Greene County Sheriff's Office, Morgan Apple was traveling south on State Road 45 just south of Interstate 69 at about 4:30 p.m., when she collided with the northbound pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Jeffrey Euler of Bloomington.

Apple was transported to Greene County General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Euler was transported to IU Health Bloomington with unknown injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, according to the release. The crash shut down south State Road 45 from 4:30-9 p.m. to allow the state police to reconstruct the accident.
