Bloomington Police have identified a suspect in the July 27 killing of a 28-year-old man.

Police charged 23-year-old Kendrick Q. Webb with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

According to eyewitness reports, security camera footage and police interviews, Webb entered Kinser Flats Apartments in the early morning. Webb then got into an argument with the victim in the victim’s bedroom, where he fired a handgun once into the man’s head. Webb left the scene with the gun in his possession.

When the police arrived at 4:50 a.m., the victim was believed to be deceased.

On Aug. 10, Bloomington detectives and members of a United States Marshals Service task force tracked Webb to an apartment building in the 2200 block of Mannheim Road in Melrose Park, Ill. Task force members arrested Webb and took him to Cook County Jail before extraditing him to Monroe County.
