More than 3,000 Monroe County residents have voted early ahead of Tuesday’s municipal primary.
As of Monday afternoon, the total number of early walk-in was 3,203, according to the county voter registration office. Mail-in and absentee ballots are still being processed.

The application deadline for absentee voting has passed. Absentee ballots must be received by 6 p.m. on Election Day.
Tuesday’s primary will determine nominees for city council, mayor, and other public offices in local municipalities. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Voters can visit indianavoters.in.gov to check their registration status, find their polling location and determine which candidates will be on their ballot.
County elections will take place next year.
