A new emergency vet clinic is set to open in Bloomington later this month.

VetCheck Pet Urgent Care Center will open in the last week of June in Whitehall Plaza, right next to At Home.

While the goal is to be open every day, the clinic will begin with a five-day schedule: noon – 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday. The clinic will remain open on holidays, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The clinic isn’t meant to replace a pet’s general practitioner, but instead to provide urgent care services for symptoms such as excess vomiting, physical injuries and more. A full list of available treatments is available on the company’s website.

If an animal’s condition is deemed too critical for the facility, VetCheck can coordinate a transfer to an emergency animal hospital.

The clinic will fill a gap in coverage in town. Previously, residents would have to drive to Greenwood or Fishers for service. The company decided to open a new office in Bloomington after noticing the number of people making the trip.
