Bloomington city pools will reduce operating hours beginning next month as Monroe County schools start for the fall semester, but there are still places for locals to swim.
Riddle Point Park at Lake Lemon is open for swimming through Labor Day. The park charges for admission.
The public pool at McCormick’s Creek State Park is open daily until mid-August, when it will switch to weekend operation through Labor Day. Daily admission is $3 per person.
Indiana University’s outdoor pool is open through Labor Day. Membership information can be found on the website. IU also has two indoor pools on campus that are open throughout the year.
Monroe Lake has three public beaches: Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, Paynetown SRA and Fairfax SRA. State Park entrance fees are $7 for state residents.
