Indiana's Mackenzie Holmes drives to the basket during Saturday's win at Ohio State.

Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes was named to the 10-player preseason All-Big Ten Women’s Basketball Team Wednesday.

Holmes, a first team All-America last season, was the only Hoosier selected to the team, which was led by Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the reigning Big Ten player of the year and only unanimous selection by the league’s coaches and media.

Holmes averaged 22.3 points and 7.3 rebounds a game last season to help lead IU to its first regular season Big Ten title in 40 years.

Indiana was picked to finish second by the league’s media and third by the league’s coaches. Iowa, which won the Big Ten tournament last season, was the favorite to win the Big Ten by the media and coaches. Ohio State was picked to finish second by the coaches and third by the media.

The Hoosiers return most of their starters from last season, when they finished 28-4 overall and 16-2 in the Big Ten and earned a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament.
