Purdue’s Zach Edey and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark were named the Big Ten Conference Athletes of the Year for the second straight year, the league announced Tuesday.

Purdue will be just one of three conference opponents Indiana will play twice in 2024-25 season.

Holmes was a unanimous first team All-Big Ten player and third team All-American this season after leading the Hoosiers in scoring with 19.8 points per game and rebounding with 6.8 per game.

The 7-foot center averaged 15.9 points and 9.9 rebounds in his one season at Indiana, earning second team All-Big Ten honors.

It’s the third straight year the fifth-year center has been named an All-American. She was a first team selection last year and honorable mention in 2022.

Indiana will face 13th-seeded Fairfield in a first-round game on Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Fifth-seed Oklahoma will play No. 12-seed Florida Gulf Coast in Saturday’s other game.

Mgbako averaged 12.2 points per game for the Hoosiers, highest among the Big Ten’s freshmen.

Holmes and Iowa star Caitlin Clark were the only unanimous selections on both of the 10-player teams.
