The Crump Theatre in Columbus is looking for donors to “save a seat” and be part of history.
The 134-year-old theater recently reopened after being closed for nine years. Volunteers, businesses and officials are working to preserve the historic building.
The re-opening of the theater in August coincided with a fundraising campaign to replace the roof. This campaign will help fund new seats including reupholstering and leather replacement.
A $240 donation gets your name on a seat – $500 gets you in the first five rows. The last major renovation was more than 80 years ago.
The theater is owned by the Columbus Capital Foundation, which aims to protect and preserve historic buildings.
