How do Bloomington’s senior living communities compare to each other? One reader wanted to know. 

Monroe County has about 15 businesses that offer some type of senior living community. 

The following chart includes multiple types of living arrangements, including income-and-age-restricted apartments, independent living, and multipurpose care facilities.  

Pricing was collected through phone calls, emails, or information listed on each businesses’ website. The prices listed are private-pay costs for each living space. Prices are not listed for the apartments since rent is based on each person’s income.  

For comparison, the National Council on Aging lists the national average of assisted living to cost $4,500 per month.
