“Hep’s Rock” is moving at Indiana University’s Memorial Stadium. It’s part of new gameday enhancements the program revealed this week.
Former coach Terry Hoeppner brought The Rock and The Walk to the gameday experience in 2005 before his passing from brain cancer in 2007.
IU Athletics received permission from the Hoeppner family to move the three-ton limestone remnant from the north end zone to the east concourse of the stadium.

Now Hep’s Rock will be a part of The Walk with players, coaches, staff – and fans entering the stadium. This leads the way to a new gameday team entrance with a bigger and enclosed tunnel, more pyrotechnics, and a new fan-immersive experience.
Other football fan upgrades include dining options with IU’s new Levy partnership, Grab and Go touch meal points, the addition of more outdoor suites, and relocation of the in-house DJ.
The IU Hoosiers kick off the season at Memorial Stadium August 31 st versus Florida International.
