Monroe County is making eight fire stations available as cooling stations today through Thursday with temperatures predicted to reach into the low 90s.
The National Weather Service predicts heat indexes could reach triple digits during that time.
The cooling stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Cooling stations are designated for those who do not have air conditioning to come and cool down. Food, showers and sleep areas are not available, according to a county press release.
Pets are allowed at Station 21 and Station 19 but must be in a kennel or carrier.

- Bloomington Fire Station 1, 226 South College Ave, Bloomington
