Early voting in Monroe County is up almost 25 percent from a comparable period in 2020, according to county election statistics.
Through Saturday – the first day of early voting on a Saturday in Indiana – 18,650 people cast ballots for the general election.
During the same number of voting days in 2020, 14,989 people cast ballots in the county.
Its also an increase from the 2016 election; 15,940 votes were cast during the same period.
Monroe County has 95,700 registered voters.
Statewide, more than a half million Hoosiers have cast ballots.
Early voting in the county continues every day except Nov. 3 at 302 S. Walnut Street in Bloomington. The general election is Nov. 5.
