City of Bloomington to replace culvert on South Sare Road

The city says the parking change will improve visibility and safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The city says the parking change will improve visibility and safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The City of Bloomington Utilities will start a project to improve stormwater drainage along South Sare Road on November 12.

The utility will replace a culvert that is in poor condition under in a section of South Sare Road, between East Winston Street and South McCartney Lane. After the culvert is replaced, the city will repave the affected section of road.

In a press release, the city said "it is essential to complete this work before local asphalt manufacturing facilities close for the winter season, as this will ensure the road is fully restored and protected from seasonal wear."

The project will take about two weeks, weather permitting. There will be detours in the area.

The city said the project will help ensure more reliable stormwater management and maintain road integrity over time.
