Bloomington Transit’s new Route 13 is now fully operational.  The new route serves previously un-serviced areas including West Vernal Pike over the interstate, Park 48 and Ivy Tech.

Route 13 began service on Jan. 2, but the official grand opening was held last week.

Buses operate Monday through Friday. The first trip of the day leaves the Downtown Transit Center at 6:40 a.m. and the final trip returns by 6:30 p.m.

There will be one trip per hour with a total of 12 trips a day.

According to Bloomington Transit, Route 13 will help expand access to jobs and educational opportunities to Bloomington residents. Businesses located along the new route include Cook Medical, Berry Global, Singota Solutions, Simtra (including the locations at Curry Pike and Daniel's Way) and TASUS.

Bloomington Transit and the city of Bloomington are discussing more projects, including the creation of an express line from Third Street to Park 48, with fewer stops.
