The town of Nashville is seeking public input on a plan which would guide future development for 20 years.

The comprehensive plan will focus on areas such as transportation, housing and natural beauty. Town Manager Sandie Jones said this will help future developments and businesses fit the town’s vision.

“We can look at this map that we've created, and go, ‘hey, yes, this fits what we perceive to be our future goals, and this is how we want to incorporate it,’” she said.

Nashville hired Rundell Ernstberger Associates, a landscaping and urban design firm, to assist in the plan’s development. Jones said the firm is gathering public input through in-person and online public workshops.

The public input period ends Friday. After that, the firm will create a draft plan, which Jones said will be reviewed by the steering committee and redevelopment commission. Finally, the Town Council will vote whether to adopt it.
