The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports that a group was driving around Wednesday threatening pedestrians with a gun.

Four people in a silver car drove to several locations around noon, including the Crane Federal Credit Union, Lowes, and around IU campus.

The individuals were detained when the Monroe County sheriff’s department and Bloomington Police worked together to conduct what the sheriff’s office called a “high-risk traffic stop” on West Third Street and Cory Lane. Police say a Glock-branded airsoft gun was found in the car. The three passengers were minors.

The Prosecutor’s Office received the case Thursday morning and is working to determine further action.

The Sheriff’s Office is collecting information from anybody who came across this group Wednesday.
