The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man they believe is responsible for last week’s drive-by gun threats.
Billy Jo Weaver, 48, of Bloomington was arrested Thursday morning on four counts of felony intimidation with a deadly weapon and one count of neglect of a dependent.
The Sheriff’s Office alleges Weaver drove the silver minivan — with three minors inside — to intimidate pedestrians with a replica Glock-branded BB gun.
The vehicle was reported midday April 30 in several locations, including the Crane Federal Credit Union, Lowes, and around IU’s campus.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Bloomington Police conducted a traffic stop on West Third Street and Cory Lane, where the four suspects were taken in for questioning.
Two of the minors were later found to be Weaver’s children. Court documents list four pedestrian victims and multiple witnesses.
