Monroe County Sheriff’s Office searching for shooting suspect

More than 200 state and local law enforcement agencies will conduct increased patrols to enforce seat belt usage.

In a press release, Monroe County Detective Jeff Brown said the incident appears targeted and the public is not in danger.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning on the south side of Bloomington.

Law enforcement responded to a call around 2 a.m. reporting a shooting in the 4600 block of South College Drive.

Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds in their home. A 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were taken to IU Health in Bloomington for treatment. Both are expected to recover.

In a press release, detective Jeff Brown said the incident appears targeted and the public is not in danger. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Details are sparse at the moment, but investigators are collecting witness information to identify a suspect.
