Gallery Show Reception: Climate Co-Lab: "Art as Inquiry"
Discover “Climate Co‑lab,” part of “Art as Inquiry,” an inspiring exhibition of 2‑D and 3‑D artwork presented at the Pillar Arts Alliance Center in the College Mall, Bloomington, IN. The April 19 reception showcases work created by six artists and a group of musicians collaborating with Indiana University scientists, and who have translated their shared research outings into art.
After a short introduction at 3pm, a group of composers and musicians from Indiana University will perform "Nature Walk," a musical and visual presentation inspired by an early spring outing led by Distinguished IU Biology Professor Roger Hangarter.
This unique performance depicts the seasonal re-awakening of nature in southern Indiana. Following the performance, visitors are invited to enjoy refreshments and experience the artworks of the Brushes for a Better Planet project along with invited artwork in a larger show, “Art as Inquiry,” by 25 Artists for Climate Awareness members. The project is Artists for Climate Awareness-hosted and organized by Lily Shan with Brushes for a Better Planet.
