Bloomington will host a new music festival this winter that aims to blur the lines between genres and rethink what a concert can be. Overtuned Fest, a four-day festival running Feb. 23–26, 2026, will feature experimental rock, contemporary classical music and multimedia performance at venues across the city.
Founded by Bloomington-based musicians and Indiana University affiliates Alexey Logunov, Jee Won Kim and Christopher Herz, Overtuned Fest brings together emerging composers, performers and visual artists for a series of free, public events. The festival’s programming combines electric guitar, drumset and chamber orchestra with live visual media and newly commissioned works.
Highlights include a reimagining of Schubert’s Winterreise, a featured recital by internationally acclaimed guitarist JIJI, and multiple world premieres written specifically for the festival. Performances will take place at Constellation Firebay Theater, IU’s Whittenberger Auditorium, Pillar Arts Performance Space and Switchyard Park Pavilion.
In addition to concerts, Overtuned Fest emphasizes education and community engagement, including outreach activities designed for Monroe County Community School Corporation orchestras. Post-concert receptions will follow each performance, encouraging interaction between artists and audiences.
All festival events are free and open to the public.
