The speed limit on a stretch of Indiana State Road 46 on the east side of Bloomington is being reduced by five miles per hour.
Starting today, the speed limit on Ind. 46 east of the Ind. 446 intersection to East Bender Road will be 40 miles per hour, down from 45 mph.
The Indiana Department of Transportation said the reduction in speed is being made to enhance safety and improve traffic flow in the area.
