What Your Eating Habits Say About Your Politics

Hunch, a website dedicated to helping people make decisions by asking them a series of multiple choice questions, recently released a report that examined the "differences in selected food-related preferences and choices made by self-described conservatives and liberals."

Their findings are quite amusing.

For example, conservatives prefer fries from the golden arches, aka McDonald's. While liberals favor more "bistro" type fries. When it comes to girl scout cookies, conservatives enjoy a good ole shortbread. And liberals savor the chocolaty goodness of the samoa.

The Hot Dog...A Symbol Of Unity

Amazing finds, no? If only the two parties could find common ground so that one day capitol hill could live in peace! Alas, thank goodness for the hot-dog. I always knew, if there were anything to bring these two feuding groups together, it would be the hot dog. 74% of liberals and 83% of conservatives say they enjoy a hot dog now and then.

Key findings from Hunch:

The data in this report shows a consistent pattern for conservatives to trend towards "homey", familiar, comfort foods and meat-heavy options. They are more likely than liberals to indulge in fast food... Liberals are more likely to be adventurous eaters, choosing international options such as Japanese or Thai.
